Welcome to the BACKLOT FESTIVAL, a day-long celebration of art, music, and community here in Astoria’s Kaufman Arts District – the first and only district of its kind in Queens.

With unique performances, musical guests, street art, fun-filled activities, food, drink and more, the Backlot Festival promises to be a great day in Astoria!

The Backlot Festival is FREE for all to attend. However, some venues are space-limited with entry on a first-come, first served basis, and priority given to button-bearing registrants.

The Backlot Festival is anchored on the world-famous backlot at Kaufman Astoria Studios.

With art displays, special performances, arts activities, local vendors, and food & drink, the backlot will be a garden of delights all afternoon long.

VISITING the FESTIVAL

The Backlot Festival ranges over the whole of the Kaufman Arts District, Queens’ first dedicated arts district comprising 24 blocks in lower Astoria.

The district is conveniently located just a few stops from Midtown on the M, R, N, & W lines of the NYC Subway.

Our festival check-in booth will be located adjacent to the backlot at Kaufman Astoria Studios, on 36th Street @ 35th Ave in Astoria.

All satellite festival venues are a short walk from the Backlot itself.
